The Catholic Education Council is the charity wing of the Notre Dame Alumni Association.  We have been operating bingos at the Delta Bingo and Gaming Centre on King Street in Welland since 1986.  Alumni volunteers attend bingos to assist patrons and in their operation.  Members of the Alumni board of directors make decisions on how the proceeds of these events are to be used in the school and Catholic community. We work with staff members, administration and others to identify areas to help improve the student and staff experience that are not covered by the budgets of NCDSB.   Operation of all local bingos fell under the control of the Ontario Lottery Corporation in 2015.  Although we have made donations to Notre Dame for years before the OLG took over, we have spent over $132.000.00 since 2015 in our community.  These funds have gone to scholarships ($8700 in 2022), awards, equipment, uniforms and musical instruments.  We have enhanced religious equipment in our Chapel and added much needed funding to the Special Needs Department.  We hope to continue this great work in the future.
